Our Roles
We also offer regular opportunities for interns and work experience students to be part of our team. These short-term placements give you the chance to support our work while developing coaching skills and gaining valuable experience working with young people.
Internships
What is the KICK Internship Programme?
As KICK has expanded nationally, we are committed to developing the next generation of leaders in sports ministry, mentoring and chaplaincy through our Internship Programme.
The KICK Internship is a bespoke one-year programme designed to equip interns with the skills, experience and confidence to deliver across KICK’s services, including Physical Education, Dance, Mentoring and Chaplaincy within our partner settings.
Interns gain hands-on experience through a combination of training, shadowing experienced staff and delivering sessions themselves. As the programme progresses, there are increasing opportunities for independent delivery, including paid work when available.
Interns also receive internal training across KICK’s services and work towards at least one accredited sports qualification. These qualifications support the skills needed for the role and may include self-study, practical assessments or written exams, verified by KICK’s Quality Team.
A typical week includes four days of practical delivery and one day of study and training, focused on developing the knowledge and skills needed to confidently work with young people. Part-time opportunities may also be available.
The Six Themes are:
Physical Education & Extra Curriculum provision
Solutions Focused Mentoring
Chaplaincy
